Nurses on Call was co-founded by Carol Cobb in 1994. Carol was a former professor of Nursing with more than 50 years of experience in teaching and practice of nursing. She was past president of the Florida Nurses Association for District 1 and was selected as one of Florida's Great 100 Florida Nurses in the category of Role Model, which required exceptional qualification, accomplishments, and contributions to nursing in the areas of entrepreneurship and education.
A nursing shortage grips much of the country and those in the medical field see the crisis continuing for a very long time. According to government projections, by the year 2008 another 450,000 nurses may be needed to meet the demand. Nurses On Call is keeping a finger on the local pulse by offering temporary staffing to hospitals, doctor’s offices, clinics and industries.
Nurses On Call, Inc. is a locally owned temporary nurse staffing agency in the Florida Panhandle area. We meet the needs of the local medical establishment by offering registered nurses and licensed practical nurses on an as needed basis. Nurses On Call can provide staffing in general and specialty healthcare areas when a shortage exists due to illness, vacation or census fluctuations. By offering both part and full-time work and flexible schedules, Nurses On Call attracts quality nurses to provide care that is needed. Nurses On Call nurses are experienced. They are tested before being sent on assignment and they typically have a broader background because of having worked in a number of settings. They work the hours they want and move around on an as needed basis, lessening the chance of becoming overloaded while enhancing their overall knowledge and flexibility.
